Dear Community,

Recently we have detected some fake (phishing) emails and websites using the name of Moneybookers. These emails are not from Moneybookers and do not link to the Moneybookers official website. If you follow the instructions in such emails, your personal and financial details may be stolen and subsequently misused. We therefore wish to raise your attention to this issue, and assist in securing your details.

The main differences between Moneybookers and ‘phishing’ emails are:

1. Greeting
Moneybookers will always greet you with your first and lastname as registered on your account with us. Phishing emails usually use phrases like ‘Dear Moneybookers customer’.

2. Personal/Financial data updates
Moneybookers never sends emails asking you to update or provide your login/account details within a form provided or asking you to click on a hyperlink to access your account. A phishing email requires you to follow a link to ‘update’ your details and to provide your email, password, date of birth, financial details (credit card numbers) etc.

Please also follow these guidelines when using Moneybookers:

1. Accessing Moneybookers
Access your account only using the login button on the Moneybookers homepage.
Always check the address which is displayed in the address bar: Moneybookers is at Link (http) If the address bar reads something else, you are on a phishing site.

2. Password
Use a unique password for your Moneybookers account. Don’t use a password registered with other websites. Never disclose your password to anyone. Moneybookers will only request your password to login to your account. Moneybookers representatives will never ask you for your password. If you believe that someone has learned your password, please change it immediately and contact Moneybookers.

3. Update your browser
We recommend that you always use the latest version of your preferred Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc.)
