I am UK as well, so its Gibbons from the library as my key reference. But as a small scale seller i list with Y&T and Michel as well, it makes sales easy to find for (IMO) most on Delcampe.

All United States buyers use the SCOTT catalogue.
This a problem for UK sellers as it is VERY costly to buy, and not available in Libraries here.
I overcame this by buying an old copy on an internet auction, it gave me the numbers, if not up to date prices

Another way to find the SCOTT numbers and the prices, is to go to the AMERICAN PHILATELIC SOCIETY website, and then their STAPSTORE pages. and use their Browse Facility.
With a little trouble you can find the numbers and the (Often Very High) Members asking prices, together with scans of the stamp being sold
