Goodevening Corinne, thank you for writing back I will try the hand-cream. Here in the Netherlands almost every one has the flu, including me that help for non smoking too but is not the most pleasant way.
I never was on the community forum before but it is fun to read now and than.
Wish you in advance Merry Christmas and a Happy Non Smoking New Year.
Best wishes from Roelie.
Hello Roelie, (I really love this unusual Name)
I agree, the forum is -most of the time- a nice place to "meet" & chat with each other.

Hi Corinne, thank you, Roelie is not a common name here my Grandmothers name was Roelfina so my parents give me that name too but changed that in Roelie.
I know Christmas is a time of year that is very busy for the lady of the house, but I have the solution for this year my husband and I go to Belgium and we take some books, wine and not to much to eat and do notting but to take a walk in the forrest with little Sammy and read and get some rest, we have had a very busy year so we wanted do notting in fact just what we like at that moment.
So my to do list is not long, lucky me and I don't take cigarets with me only my e-smoker (just in case) my husband is very pleased with it because there is no smel in the house, I do it indoors you are better because you smoke outside if you do, I hope not. And finaly I want to quit total including the e-smoker, but as Bill told one day at the time and that is a good advice.
I am going away next Friday and won't be back before January 1st, so whe I did not buy a package of cigarets in that time I am a little proud of myself.
Take care and best wishes from Roelie.

hi roelie,
you and corinne just keep working on staying smoke free. the longer you do it, the more success you will have never smoking again. i treat this habit the same as i did my alcoholism, one day at a time. and i have been sober for over 24 years now. the same 12 steps also work here. get a copy of the big blue book and see for yourself. take care and a merry xmas and a happy new year to you and your family.
amities,
cajunsr.
Thank you for your email, I think it is great that your are sober for 24 years now, that is realy great and strong of you. Sorry but I don't know what the big blue book is.

hi roelle,
'the big book' is the story of the founding men who started AA (alcoholics anonymous). it contains the 12 steps to becoming sober and also works for anyone who wishes to become drug free, and includes nicotine. and that is as much a drug as cocaine. and just as addictive. many programs such as NA (narcotics anonymous) and GA (gambler's anonymous) are also based on the same 12 step program. here is a link that may help explain the 12 steps from the 'the big book', mine was just 'blue'. :

Hello Roelie,
Happy new Year !
Hope you enjoy your trip to Belgium ?
Are you still on your way to become a non-smoker ?
I finally found the right tool for me : CHANTIX, a new prescription medecine.
IT IS WORKING (for me), the cravings are almost gone
The weather here did help too as you can see, we did have some snow, when I decide to start this prescription

hi corinne,
i was going to suggest that new medication but have not researched it much. there were some bad reports on it so i would definitely check it out on www.webmd.comLink (http) . but if it is working for you, great. the goal is to stay smoke free. i was fortunate to so in a week. and since 1994. for others, it may take a long time, and you just have to keep trying. so never give up. take care little sister. the snow is beautiful but i will take my nice warm florida.
amities,
